ALCAT 食物及化學品敏感測試是甚麼?

透過血液測試分析免疫細胞(白血球)的炎症反應以評估身體對哪種食物﹑食用化學品或其他物質產生有機會產生敏感反應。

附註:ALCAT測試並不會檢測由免疫球蛋白E引致的食物過敏和缺乏酵素引致的食物不耐。

測試的原理是甚麼?

面臨外來刺激時,白血球會釋發出引致發炎的物質作為防禦反應,白血球的體積及數量亦因此會產生變動,並被記錄下來以作分析。

研究支持

ALCAT食物敏感測試採用Leukocyte activation testing(白血球激活測試)的測試技術,有長久的臨床歷史,受到多個經驗證的研究所支持。3-9 耶魯大學近期發表的一個研究,發現根據白血球激活測試指引的排除飲食法(elimination diet)能有效減低患腸易激綜合症(Irritable Bowel Syndrome / IBS)的症狀。10

常見問題

1. 進行ALCAT測試之前要進行禁食嗎?

不需要。

2. 如果我對某些食物敏感,一定會出現明顯的症狀嗎?

身體對某些食物產生敏感反應時,白血球的防禦反應有機會會引致炎症,但不一定會出現肉眼能看見或能感受到的明顯症狀。

3. 我知道我應該對某種食物過敏,但為什麼你的測試報告卻沒有顯示敏感反應呢?

食物過敏是身體對食物產生由免疫球蛋白E(IgE)引致的不良反應,ALCAT測試並不會檢測食物過敏(food allergy),而是監測評估延遲性的食物敏感(food sensitivity)。如果你懷疑可能有免疫球蛋白E過敏反應,應盡快向你的家庭醫生尋求診斷及協助。如果已確診對某些食物有過敏反應,則應繼續避免接觸這些致敏原,以避免危害生命危險。

4. ALCAT 測試會檢測免疫球蛋白G (IgG) 抗體嗎?

食物敏感是免疫系統錯認個別食品為潛在威脅所引致的不良反應,而ALCAT 測試是一個客觀及準確度高的測試,以監測免疫細胞(白血球)對食物所產生的異常防禦反應,以評估不同程度的食物敏感,並不會測量IgG抗體。市面上一些測試會測量總IgG抗體(包含IgG抗體1﹑2﹑3及4)作為評估食物敏感的指標,但近年有不少研究指出總IgG抗體的存在可能只是代表在特定時間內曾食用過某種食物,甚至有指出IgG抗體4的存在是顯示身體對某種食物擁有消化能力,而不是代表對該食物產生敏感反應。
